18th July Katherine

Kms today 290                Kms to date 6140

I was up to early but the Indians were up earlier or I might have had a word.  I had brekkie in the Pub and left at 8:30.  I was going to meet up with Morag in Katherine.  I decided to drop into Mataranka Homestead to check they had my booking because I did it over the phone.  Everything was OK.

Then it was only 100kms to Katherine and I was able to check into the hotel early.  Morag was doing a walk in the morning and called me when she was back in the car.  Unfortunately she had stumbled and grazed one knee quite badly, so I helped dress it after she had a shower.

We took the car to a carwash as it was covered in bat poo from the night before at the Katherine Gorge camp ground. We also checked the tyre pressures.

We had an early dinner at the Katherine Club as Morag hadn't eaten all day. She crashed exhausted as the noisy bats had kept her awake most of the night.

Great to see Morag again after a month apart.

We were able to charge the car up from a power point beside the pool.  The Motel owner didn't seem fussed about it.
