10th July Mildura

Kms today 267                        Kms to date 2945

It was well below zero overnight and the bike was covered in ice in the morning. I had brekkie in the motel and packed up but decided to have a coffee in town and  wait until it warmed up a bit before I left.

I wandered down the main street, which had a railway line right down the centre.  The Bakery had a fire going so I plonked  myself in front of it with a coffee and read The Age.

Not much Solar power this morning as the top of the bin was covered in ice!

I left at 10:30 and rode past paddocks that were bright green with the winter wheat crop. It looked so strange when everywhere else was brown Mallee scrub.

I stopped to look at a few painted Silos and had lunch in Ouyen.

There was a well preserved 1936 Art Deco Roxy cinema across the road.

I arrived in Mildura at 3 and went down to the Murray hoping to catch a Paddle Steamer ride but I was too late, but I did see one on the River.

Tonight for dinner I had to choose between Stephano's or the Mildura Working Mans Club.  I chose the latter!

I got the good news tonight that WA has opened up to  NT. Now the only border problem I might have is getting back into Vic from NSW.  This is the exact opposite of the situation when I started this trip!
