9th July Wycheproof

Kms today  298                Kms to date  2678

I  packed up all morning and left Camberwell at 12:30 pm and headed towards the Calder Fwy to Bendigo. It was sunny but quite cold so the heated gloves were on the max settings.

Packed up and ready to go for the 2nd time

The country side around Bendigo was very green and hay bales seemed to be an important business.

I had to stop to photograph this decorated tree trunk at the side of the road.

I arrived in Wycheproof at about 4:15.  After I unloaded the bike I walked to Mt Wycheproof, the smallest registered mountain at all of 43m.  It looked more like a granite intrusion to me.  I spoke to a teenager who was watching the sunset too with her dog.  She had come to Wycheproof when her parents split up, but didn't like it much.

Geraldine did a Gig at this venue and it was notable for the size of the Eskys that were wheeled in by the locals - a rowdy but enjoyable time was had by all!

  1. Hi Colin, we've met before as I live over the road from Alan and I am a member of the NB Ulysses. Great to see that you are on the road and looking forward to following your ride. I am jealous!
